It is completely OK to feel a little apprehensive about having acupuncture done for the first time. If you have never tried acupuncture done before you probably don’t realise how thin acupuncture needles are. They are nothing like the needles that are used for injections. Acupuncture needles come in varying lengths and thicknesses, and some are as tiny as a hair. They bend when you touch them.

Often you don’t feel anything at all during the treatment. At other times you may feel a slight poke or prick or a mild ache. Certainly there is nothing to be scared of.

If you have a fear of needles, let Aaran know. He stocks several needle sizes and will be more than happy to use the thinnest variety at your request.
